Course director: Anne-Marie H. Zulkahari Main tutors: Anne-Marie & Mariela Panero Guest teachers: Hana Jones and senior teachers from the PILATESfoundation UK Ltd. The next course starts February 2008 and ends with the PILATESfoundation exams, which take place either May 2009 or December 2009 depending upon whether the trainee has completed the 1200 hours. Course lectures and teaching practise span over 42 weeks with time at the end of this period to complete teaching practise requirements and written work. All candidates must have completed regular classes for at least six months prior to the start of the course. The Pilates repertoire includes mat work, Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda chair and accessory equipment. Remedial applications, rehabilitation, conditions and pre and postnatal Pilates are included. Pre-requisites needed before applying: Applicants must have experience of the Pilates Method on their own bodies and have some knowledge of anatomy, movement and biomechanics. Cost: £6.000.00 The next Bridging/Apparatus course starts September 2008 and ends with the PILATESfoundation exams, which take place either May 2009 or December 2009 depending upon whether the trainee has completed the 800 hours. Lectures and classes extend over a period of 36 weeks. Teaching practise and preparation for the exam starts February 2009. Please note that classes taken during this time are not included. The centre only takes applicants who a) have already successfully completed a Pilates Mat work course with the PILATESfoundation. Applicants from other Pilates associations are welcome if they can demonstrate a) sufficient knowledge of classical and evolved Pilates repertoire b) a knowledge of functional anatomy and biomechanics c) a valid first-aid certificate. We also expect each applicant to have been studying the Pilates apparatus in a PILATESfoundation approved studio for at least six months prior to the start of the course.
